Periodically wash the jewelry with water and neutral liquid soap. Rub the dirtiest parts of the jewel with a soft-bristle toothbrush (the one used by children is perfect). Rinse with plenty of water to remove the soap residue. Finally, dry the remains of water from the jewel with a soft cloth (if you don't have any, absorbent paper that does not release lint serves as well).
